Fall Back in Love With Your Curls
The seasonal reset your curl routine might be asking for.
I don’t know about you, but even years after graduating, September still feels like the start of a new year. A time to reset, settle back into a routine and make a few little changes.
The sandals get put away, the sweaters come out, our coffee gets hotter, and somewhere between the first crisp morning and the first time we reach for a jacket, our curls seem to realize the season has changed, too.
Suddenly, the routine that worked all summer isn’t working quite the same way.
After months of sun, humidity, chlorine and salt water, the shift to cooler, drier weather can leave curls feeling drier and craving a little more moisture.
But that doesn’t mean you need a whole new routine.
Crema and Al Dente are lightweight and buildable, so as the seasons change and your curls change with them, your routine can simply adjust. A little more Crema when they’re craving moisture. A little more Al Dente when they need extra hold and frizz control.
Two products, whatever the season.
A little more Crema, please!
Your perfect Crema-to-Al Dente ratio isn’t set in stone.
As the weather gets drier, try adding a little more Crema Daily Styling Cream, especially through your mid-lengths and ends. Think of it as the curl equivalent of adding another layer before you walk out the door.
Same routine. Slightly cozier.
And remember, more product doesn’t necessarily mean a lot more product. Fusilli is designed to be buildable, so start small, see how your hair responds and add from there.
Water is still your best friend.
No matter the season, starting with wet hair gives your curls the hydration and flexibility they need to take shape.
Detangle gently first, then finger-rake Crema Daily Styling Cream from roots to ends so every curl gets its fair share. Scrunch from the bottom up with a gentle pumping motion to encourage your natural curl pattern.
Then glaze Al Dente Extra Hold Gel over and through your curls using a praying-hands motion for definition and hold, then scrunch from the bottom up to finish.
Crema gives your curls hydration and softness. Al Dente helps them hold their shape.
(And between washes? Don’t underestimate a little refresh. Add a couple pumps of Crema to your continuous mister with water, shake, mist, reshape and go.)
Sweater season is upon us.
We love sweater season, but what they do to our curls? We may have some notes.
Sweaters, scarves and coats all mean more friction against your hair. If you’re noticing your curls tangling more or looking frizzier, you’re not alone!
The trick: Toss a travel-size Fusilli Method Set in your bag for on-the-go touch-ups. A little water + Crema + Al Dente can help reshape and redefine any curls that got caught in the crossfire.
Your sweaters may be fuzzy, but your curls don’t have to be.
Fall Is for Fresh Starts.
Fall has always been a season for changing things up.
So if you’ve been married to the same curl routine for years, consider this your sign to experiment.
Especially if your routine has somehow become a lineup of products layered one after another, only to leave your curls feeling heavy, coated or like there’s just… something in them.
Fusilli was created to be the opposite.
We wanted to take all the guesswork, product overload and complicated curl routines and bring everything back to just two steps:
Hydrate + Hold.
Crema brings the hydration, softness and smoothness. Al Dente brings the definition and flexible hold. Both are lightweight and buildable, so instead of choosing a different product every time your hair or the weather changes, you can simply play with your ratio.
One Routine for the Whole Household.
Curls may look different from one person to the next, but caring for them doesn’t have to mean different routines for everyone in the house.
Fusilli is made for real-life curls and all the people who have them. Our formulas are vegan and cruelty-free, and made without sulfates, silicones, drying alcohols, parabens, phthalates, PEGs, mineral oil, artificial dyes or microplastics.
The routine is simple and adaptable enough to share. The ratio is what makes it yours.
That might mean more Crema for one head of curls, more Al Dente for another, or discovering that someone in your household has quietly been using your Fusilli Method this entire time.
One routine. A whole household of curlies.
There’s no perfect ratio. There’s your ratio.
Natural curls aren't meant to look exactly the same in July and October. Or Monday and Thursday, for that matter.
Humidity changes. Temperatures change. Hair changes.
And maybe part of really falling in love with your natural texture is letting go of the idea that your curls have to behave exactly the same way every day.
Instead, you learn to listen.
A little more water and Crema when they’re feeling thirsty.
A little more Al Dente when they need staying power.
As your curls change, your routine adjusts.
So maybe this fall, the change isn’t another sweater or a new pair of boots, but it’s simplifying your routine, embracing your natural texture and falling back in love with your curls.
Stay Curly,
Haley & The Fusilli Team
