When you layer Al Dente on top, it forms a lightweight hold that seals that hydration in place. When Crema goes first, the gel glides on evenly and creates definition without crunch.

The best part? You get to decide how Al Dente your curls are. Use a light touch for soft, flexible hold, or layer a bit more for extra definition and hold power.

Porosity is how easily your hair absorbs and holds moisture. To test it, drop a clean strand into a glass of water. If it floats, you have low porosity hair; if it sinks halfway, it’s medium; if it sinks quickly, it’s high. Low-porosity hair needs less Crema and a bit more Al Dente for hold, while high-porosity hair benefits from more Crema to hydrate and Al Dente to seal it in. Find your balance and adjust as you learn what your curls need.

You can, but you probably won’t need to. The Fusilli Method was made to work beautifully on its own for hydrated, defined curls.

Fusilli products won’t create curls on naturally straight hair, since texture comes from your hair’s natural pattern. What they can do is enhance any natural wave or bend, add shine, reduce frizz, and make styling easier. If your hair has even a little texture, Crema helps bring it out and Al Dente helps hold it in place.

You’ll always get the best results applying Fusilli to at least damp hair. When your curls are wet, the cuticle opens up. This means all those good-for-you ingredients (like tomato ferment, vegan keratin, and olive squalane) can actually sink in instead of just sitting on top. Crema spreads more evenly on damp hair, locking in moisture before it evaporates, and Al Dente then seals that hydration in place for longer-lasting definition.
